Message - A stable ID template can be used only with RegExp patterns.

Applies to TestComplete 15.70, last modified on December 17, 2024

This message is displayed when you are trying to enter a value in the Stable ID Template field for dynamic identifier patterns used with web or hybrid mobile applications and defined using wildcards. Wildcard patterns specify dynamic identifiers that TestComplete will ignore. There is no need to specify a Stable ID Template value for wildcard patterns.

Stable ID templates can only be used with regular expression (RegExp) patterns. A stable ID template specifies how TestComplete creates a non-changing identifier for a web object from its original dynamic identifier. For example, ignore numbers in the treepicker-1038 identifier and use treepicker instead.
